“Ajna” is currently my favorite of The Coral Colony, but I will speak about all of the other ones that are out so far, since this series is so popular. Believe it or not, I despised poetry for many years. I underestimated its power. I assume that this is because I was such a spitfire, and I always felt the need to overexplain myself in my writing.

Over a year ago, I stumbled upon the Ottava Rima form, and I began to write what I thought was a poem for Halloween. At the time, I believe “Vishuddha” was meant to be called “Z-Library.” I wanted it to be about a zombie who was trapped in a coffin, but I could not find the words that fit the concept. Then I didn’t like it too much, and I scrapped it all together. It’s ironic because “Vishuddha” took me about three days to write—the longest out of all of them. Later on, I decided to use it for Substack, and when I reread it, I realized that it reminded me of the throat chakra. I knew that I didn’t want to name it that, so I searched for the Sanskrit names and decided to go there. I’m aware that I post and organize them out of order, but that is a personal choice. It is listed based on my healing journey.

Next is “Muladhara,” the root chakra. I wrote this in about 2 minutes. I did not have any idea what it was going to be about, and I didn’t do any brainstorming. I remember seeing a tarot card that was one of the “Pages,” and it reminded me of a time when I heard a spiritualist say that the Pages represent children. So I wrote the first line, but then again, I knew I was no expert at tarot, but the rest came flowing out. I believe Muladhara has at least two meanings:
